Therapeutic Musculoskeletal Injections
Therapeutic musculoskeletal injections are used to relieve muscle and joint pain caused by inflammation due to injury, arthritis, tendonitis, chronic pain and other conditions. The process for receiving these medical services will require an initial extensive client consultation followed by the development of a customized treatment plan. These injections can include cortisone, prolotherapy, viscosupplements, trigger point injections and anti-inflammatories.
Therapeutic injections are used to relieve joint pain and improve mobility. This treatment is ideal for clients ages 55+ who are suffering from osteoarthritis or seeking relief from injury caused by the wear and tear of joints due to aging. Most joint injections are non-invasive and require no recovery time. Clients can expect to leave the clinic feeling better than they did before and resume their regular activity after treatment, some treatments require rest for 1-2 days post procedure.
Results may vary depending on the individual needs of each client and it may take up to six weeks for the treatment to take its full effect.
CORTISONE INJECTIONS
Cortisone (steroid) Injections help to relieve pain and inflammation in a specific part of your body. Cortisone shots are effective in treating inflammatory arthritis, or to relieve pain in the joints, which may include the hip, knee, shoulder, elbow, or wrist. The process for receiving this medical service will require an initial extensive client consultation followed by the development of a customized treatment plan.
VISCOSUPPLEMENT INJECTIONS
Viscosupplementation is a procedure involving the injection of a thick fluid, called hyaluronic acid, into the knee joint. Although research shows there is currently no cure for osteoarthritis, medical professionals believe hyaluronic acid can improve the lubricating properties of the synovial fluid, which can reduce the pain from osteoarthritis of the joint, improve mobility, and provide a higher and more comfortable level of activity. Results may vary depending on the individual needs of each client and it may provide between 6-10 months of temporary relief
PROLOTHERAPY
Prolotherapy, also called proliferation therapy, is a regenerative injection treatment that helps to alleviate muscle and joint pain and improve mobility. This treatment is becoming increasingly popular as an all-natural treatment for a range of chronic musculoskeletal pain. It is used in conjunction with chiropractic treatment, massage and physiotherapy
An irritant solution is injected into the damaged area to stimulate the body’s natural healing response to repair and grow new tissues. This treatment is ideal for athletes seeking recovery from a sports injury, or adults suffering from joint pain, immobility. **Spinal and SI joint injections are not offered at this time.
TRIGGER POINT INJECTIONS
Trigger points are knots in the muscles and injecting them with medications can help alleviate muscle pain and stiffness. This is often done in conjunction with massage, chiropractic treatment and physiotherapy. This aids in muscle stiffness, chronic headaches, neck pain, or an injury from a motor vehicle collision.
SCLEROTHERAPY
Sclerotherpy involves the injection of a mild salt solution into a small spider vein or small varicose vein. This causes the vessel to collapse and reduce the appearance on the surface of the skin. (Coming in November 2021!)

Boreal Health offers Neuromodulator and Dermal Filler injections as non-invasive cosmetic treatment options to help clients preserve their youthful glow and revitalize the skin. All procedures begin with a consultation to determine the best approach required to achieve the client ’s desired effect.
BOTOX/DYSPORT/XEOMIN
Botox is a cosmetic injectable treatment that is designed to temporarily correct dynamic wrinkles (aka expression wrinkles) by blocking the nerve signals into the muscle at the injection site. Botox is highly effective, safe and approved by Health Canada.
Boreal Health also offers Botox injections for medical reasons such as for the treatment of chronic migraines, excessive underarm sweating and bruxism. FILLER
Dermal fillers are injected beneath the surface of the skin to add volume and fullness to facial areas such as lips and around the mouth. These fillers are a great choice for clients who are desiring results that look and feel natural. Results are almost instant, but may vary depending on the individual needs of each client.
Microneedling
Microneedling is a safe and effective way to rejuvenate the skin and treat common minor skin related issues such as reducing the appearance of wrinkles, acne scars, stretch marks and more. Microneedling involves the insertion of very fine, very short, sterilized needles into the skin to prompt the body’s natural healing process by generating the growth of new cells and creating new collagen. If you are looking for a more supple, youthful glow, this treatment is for you! Results may vary depending on the individual needs of each client and it may take between 2-3 weeks for the treatment to take its full effect. The procedure can be done with or without product, depending on each client’s wishes and desired result.

Boreal Health complements its medical grade services by also offering non-invasive cosmetic options to help clients preserve their beautiful, youthful glow. This includes neuromodulators, filler, and microneedling.
